Kyle's Ride, 10 Years Gone and things are coming together very well. As a reminder, Kyle's Ride is a cold case awareness/charity ride for my son who was murdered here in Indianapolis on 4 Jan 2012 and remains a cold case as of today...I hope that by placing a spotlight on his murder my family and I will one day be able find resolution and justice.
I am currently working on getting a block of rooms set up at a nearby hotel that will offer discounted prices. The hotel is only about 2 miles away from the final stop of the ride at the VFW on Ft. Benjamin Harrison where we will have food, music, and some great raffle items. Once I have this locked in, I will send a follow-up email.
In the meantime, please mark your calendars for the 17th of June and join me as we ride for Kyle.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the men and women who died while serving in the country's armed forces. The holiday, which is celebrated every year on the last Monday of May, was formerly known as Decoration Day and originated after the American Civil War to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the war. By the 20th century, Memorial Day had been extended to honor all Americans who died while in the military service. It typically marks the start of the summer vacation season, while Labor Day marks its end.
The Battle of Midway was a major naval battle in the Pacific Theater of World War II that took place on 4–7 June 1942, six months after Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor and one month after the Battle of the Coral Sea. The U.S. Navy under Admirals Chester W. Nimitz, Frank J. Fletcher, and Raymond A. Spruance defeated an attacking fleet of the Imperial Japanese Navy under Admirals Isoroku Yamamoto, Chūichi Nagumo, and Nobutake Kondō north of Midway Atoll, inflicting devastating damage on the Japanese fleet. Military historian John Keegan called it "the most stunning and decisive blow in the history of naval warfare", while naval historian Craig Symonds called it "one of the most consequential naval engagements in world history, ranking alongside Salamis, Trafalgar, and Tsushima Strait, as both tactically decisive and strategically influential"
In the military, D-Day is the day on which a combat attack or operation is to be initiated. The best-known D-Day is during World War II, on June 6, 1944—the day of the Normandy landings—initiating the Western Allied effort to liberate western Europe from Nazi Germany. However, many other invasions and operations had a designated D-Day, both before and after that operation.
In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened on that day in 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress. The United States Army also celebrates the Army Birthday on this date; Congress adopted "the American continental army" after reaching a consensus position in the Committee of the Whole on June 14, 1775.
Father's Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. Many countries celebrate it on the third Sunday of June, though it is also celebrated widely on other days by many other countries. Father's Day was created to complement Mother's Day, a celebration that honors mothers and motherhood.
Juneteenth is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Deriving its name from combining "June" and "nineteenth", it is celebrated on the anniversary of General Order No. 3, issued by Major General Gordon Granger on June 19, 1865, proclaiming freedom for slaves in Texas. Originating in Galveston, Juneteenth has since been observed annually in various parts of the United States, often broadly celebrating African-American culture. The day was first recognized as a federal holiday in 2021.
The Servicemen's Readjustment Act of 1944, commonly known as the G.I. Bill, was a law that provided a range of benefits for some of the returning World War II veterans (commonly referred to as G.I.s). The original G.I. Bill expired in 1956, but the term "G.I. Bill" is still used to refer to programs created to assist some of the U.S. military veterans.
Signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on June 22, 1944
The Korean War (also known by other names) was fought between North Korea and South Korea from 1950 to 1953. The war began on 25 June 1950 when North Korea invaded South Korea following clashes along the border and rebellions in South Korea. North Korea was supported by China and the Soviet Union while South Korea was supported by the United States and allied countries. The fighting ended with an armistice on 27 July 1953.
Laconia Motorcycle Week is an annual motorcycle rally held in Laconia, New Hampshire. The rally traditionally takes place over nine days in June, always the 2nd and 3rd full weekend.
Khobar Towers bombing of 1996, terrorist attack on a U.S. Air Force housing complex in the town of Khobar, near Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, on June 25, 1996. The bombers drove a tanker truck packed with 5,000 pounds (2,268 kg) of explosives near the complex and then jumped into waiting vehicles, escaping just before detonation. The explosion, which was so loud that it was heard some 20 miles (32 km) away, left a crater 85 feet (26 metres) wide and 35 feet (10.6 metres) deep. Nineteen U.S. service members were killed, and some 500 people were injured.

GA 11 has been asked to lead the Ride for Vets. This is a ride to support Veterans with PTSD. It is scheduled for June 3rd 2023 in Johns Creek, GA. It is being hosted by the Johns Creek Veterans Association (JCVA) whom we have had an outstanding relationship with in the past. There is a ride fee of $25.00 per bike. We will have local law enforcement as escorts to block any and all intersections. Following the event, we will hit our local watering hole for some R&R and visit with any of our Brothers from our great Eagle Nation that can attend.
Brother's, the Johns Creek Veteran's Association "Ride for Vets" is Saturday. We are linking up at the Newtown Park at 0730hrs.
3150 Old Alabama Rd.
Johns Creek, GA
The ride starts at 0800 sharp so we all need to be in position well before then. The U.S. Military Vets MC will be leading this ride. There will be police escort so the ride should be pretty cut and dry. When we get to the end, we will peel off to a gas station to refuel/refit and go from there. GA11 will make our way back down to the Newtown Park for the event.
Afterwards, we'll grab a bite to eat and we may find ourselves back at the GA2 Clubhouse for some lemonade and good conversation. We'd love to spend time with our Brother's so we hope you can all join us.
Here is a quick brief I received from the JCVA who is hosting the ride. I've also included the flyer that has more details you may want to know. The ride fee for us has changed to $25 per bike. That includes the rider and a passenger.

The solstice heralds the beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere.
The timing of the solstice depends on when the Sun reaches its farthest point north of the equator.
The word solstice is from the Latin solstitium, from sol (sun) and stitium (to stop), reflecting the fact that the Sun appears to stop at this time (and again at the winter solstice).
In temperate regions, we notice that the Sun is higher in the sky throughout the day, and its rays strike Earth at a more direct angle, causing the efficient warming we call summer.
This summer solstice is the day with the most hours of sunlight during the whole year.
