Many countries in the New World and elsewhere officially celebrate as a holiday the anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival in the Americas, which happened on October 12, 1492. The landing is celebrated as Columbus Day in the United States.
The word Halloween or Hallowe'en dates to about 1745 and is of Christian origin. The word "Halloween" means "hallowed evening" or "holy evening". It comes from a Scottish term for All Hallows' Eve (the evening before All Hallows' Day). In Scots, the word "eve" is even, and this is contracted to e'en or een. Over time, (All) Hallow(s) Eve(n) evolved into Halloween. Although the phrase "All Hallows'" is found in Old English (ealra hālgena mæssedæg, all saints mass-day), "All Hallows' Eve" is itself not seen until 1556.

Oct 8-9 is our Annual also know as Fall Risk Festival
As we are getting closer to GA 5’s “Fall Risk Festival” I have to let you all know that the cabins and RV sites are filled. Primitive tent sites are still available, first come first served. However with the numbers of you showing the desire to attend our event we have gotten with local hotels to help with the lodging. There are 6 hotels we have listed here on the attached flyer. These vendors were the most military friendly when notified of our intent to utilize them for our event.
In saying that we have hotels near the event, your attendance in numbers will help us determine if we will have a dedicated shuttle to get you to and from these hotels. So if you are booking a room at one of these hotels please let us know by texting the following information to Toolman.
1) Name, State, and Chapter to be contacted. (Any other phone number/ person that may need to be contacted in your group by name.)
2) Hotel you/your group will be staying in with Room Number (Reservation Confirmation Number.)
3) Days planning to attend (E.g. 08 Oct 2021 ONLY, 08-09 October 2021 BOTH, 09 October 2021 ONLY.)
Text to 678-431-2427 (Toolman, GA5)
There will be multiple events going on while we are there. We welcome you all to the 1st Annual “Fall Risk Festival” where our schedule in short will be:
08 Oct. will be our Meet and Greet Fish Fry brought to you by GA 5’s own local fishing guide Brother Striper, with Brother Clutch officially opening the bar for the weekend and working his brand of mixology.
09 Oct. will be our Fall Risk Festival with the bar open early (if it even closes) and staying open until… There will be various events and ceremonies throughout the day as well, with tattoo artists and vendors available. (Rumors of “Karaoke from the Crowd” in the evening by Brother Digger are swimming thick where “Drop ‘em Out” may make a comeback.)
10 Oct. will be checkout and accountability of all your stuff so you don’t forget anything before you leave.
