GA-8 is hosting the 5th Annual Jesse Hinton Memorial Homeless Vets Run on September 29.
Jesse Hinton was a local Vet who dedicated a lot of time and energy to collecting food, clothing and supplies for Savannah area Homeless Vets. He reached out to us for assistance in 2013 and we responded. Unfortunately, Jesse passed away shortly thereafter.
It has been an honor for us to carry on the tradition in his name every year with the support of his family.
This year, the run will start and end at the USMVMC Clubhouse in Brooklet on Saturday, September 29.
100% of the proceeds from this run are used to provide food, water, clothing, shelter and survival supplies to Veterans living in tents in the woods around Savannah.
We partner with VFW Post 660 to provide the support. They provide us with info on the needs (clothing sizes, etc.) and deliver the items where they need to go. We raise funds and keep the pantry stocked and buy the specific items they need. This annual run is our largest source of income to support this cause.
We have an absolutely incredible number of awesome door prizes thanks to Jesse Hinton's granddaughter, Tiffany and virtually every business in the Statesboro area.
Following the run, we will celebrate our Brothers White Lightning and Parolee reaching the 10 Year milestone in this MC. Hope to see you all there!!

ALL Proceeds Benefit Wreaths Across America
Wreaths will be laid on Veterans's graves at Crown Hill National Cemetery on December 15, 2018
In case you do not know,
Crown Hill National Cemetery is Sections 9 and 10 located within Crown Hill Cemetery. The national cemetery is comprised of 1.4 acres, and the property was purchased by the U.S. Government in 1866 for the purpose of reburying 707 Union soldiers from the City Cemetery. Those graves were originally marked by headboards, painted and lettered, which were later replaced with upright marble headstones. A bronze plaque on the grounds identifies the national cemetery and a commemorative monument stands within the Crown Hill National Cemetery section. There are 2,135 soldiers representing every war in which the United States has participated, with the last one being made in 1969 for Maj. Robert W. Hayes, an Air Force pilot killed in Vietnam.
I also attached a doc for all you history buffs.
We hope to see you there.
