Tree Tagging is Thursday, 8 Sept. at Noon.
We will once again be tagging the trees for our brothers that we have lost over the past year. It will again coincide with Maine States annual. We will tag tree's with dog tags for our brothers on Sept 8th, then roll down to Maine States annual which is on the 10th.
The tree's we tag are the tree's which make the wreaths for Wreaths Across America day. These tree are living memorials for our fallen brothers, it's a great time, ask around, give me a call. Those that have went will tell you its a great and memorable time.
As always in "downeast" Maine lodging is sparse:
Bluebird Motel
Machias, ME
207 255 3333
Machias River Inn
Machias, ME
207 255 4861
Bluebird is probably the preferred but both are decent hotels for the area.
If you've never been to the area, you'll probably want to stay in Machias the night before the tree tagging. Tree tagging will be approx noon on the 8th, then rolling down to Kennebunk right after.
Again it's a great time, if you have any questions please give me a call.
As a reminder for all the chapters, if you've had brothers pass this year, get all the needed information to brother Beemer. We will not accept any information from anyone else, it must go through National.

Labor Day in the United States is a holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September. It is a celebration of the American labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of their country.
Patriot Day, holiday observed in the United States on September 11 to commemorate the lives of those who died in the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Virginia and those who perished when the hijacked United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania. The holiday also recognizes those who died attempting to rescue people trapped by the attacks.
By a joint resolution of the U.S. Congress on Dec. 18, 2001, September 11 was designated as Patriot Day. The resolution calls for the president of the United States to issue a yearly proclamation requesting that all U.S. flags be flown at half-staff. Further, Americans are asked to honor the dead with a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 AM, Eastern Standard Time, the time that the first airplane struck the World Trade Center, and to respect the ceremonies of remembrance when they are conducted. Prior to passage of the resolution, several other names had been proposed for the day, such as the National Day of Remembrance and the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance.

This year the Alabama Combined will be hosted by AL-4 in Northern Alabama on Lake Guntersville. As in past years, we will do this the weekend after Labor Day. Per the attached Flyer, there're plenty of lodging accommodations from Free tent camping, to rental cabins, cottages, RVs, and hotel rooms at this state park. Friday and Saturday evening meals provided. For some reason, these folks like us and let us have free reign of part of the park on the lake. First drink (and then some) is always on us. Look forward to seeing our Brothers and Extensions!
