In the United States, Armed Forces Day is celebrated on the third Saturday in May. It falls near the end of Armed Forces Week, which begins on the second Saturday of May and ends on the third Sunday of May.
First observed on 20 May 1950, the day was created on 31 August 1949, to honor Americans serving in the five U.S. military branches – the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Coast Guard – following the consolidation of the military services in the U.S. Department of Defense. It was intended to replace the separate Army-, Navy-, Air Force-, Marine Corps- and Coast Guard Days, but the separate days are still observed, especially within the respective services.
The first Armed Forces Day was celebrated by parades, open houses, receptions and air shows. The United States' longest running city-sponsored Armed Forces Day Parade is held in Bremerton, Washington. In 2012, Bremerton celebrated the 64th year of the Armed Forces Day Parade.
Brothers we have been invited to escort the traveling Vietnam wall on its only stop in Indiana this year. It being a Tuesday I know it will be difficult for some. This is open to the public so we will not be the only ones in attendance. Come out if your able and join the cause. No cost just Brotherhood, all though I'm sure we can find an establishment for some refreshments afterward! Any questions contact myself or brother Notten. Look forward to having a strong showing for the club.

About the ride: This ride is scheduled for Sunday, May 22nd. Staging from 0900hrs to 1145hrs. KSU at 1200hrs. It starts from 5 different locations around the greater ATL area and everyone will meet at the Battery (the new ATL Braves Stadium) in Atlanta. The Club will link up at Hell Bender Harley Davidson in Marietta, GA that morning and lead the ride from there.
It’s a fund raiser so it’s $30 per bike whether you have one rider or two (for the Club only so if you have your extension, just select single rider) and $10 for parking at the Battery. You don’t have to do the meal plan, you can get food and drink at the Battery without it, but you have that option.
