April Fools' Day (sometimes called April Fool's Day or All Fools' Day) is celebrated every year on the first day of April. Popular since the 19th century, the day is not a national holiday in any country, but it is well known in Europe, Australia, Brazil and the United States, and it is celebrated as a day when people play practical jokes and hoaxes on each other. The jokes and their victims are known as "April fools". Hoax stories may be reported by the press and other media on this day and explained on subsequent days.
In Ireland it was traditional to entrust the victim with an "important letter" to be given to a named person. That person would then ask the victim to take it to someone else, and so on. The letter when finally opened contained the words "send the fool further".

We have been invited to attend the interment of an American Hero.
The remains of Capt. Albert Schlegel will be laid to rest on March 30th at 10AM at Beaufort National Cemetery. Capt Schlegel was WWII Distinguished Pilot with 4 Purple Hearts and 15.5 confirmed downed enemy aircraft. On Aug 28, 1944 he was shot down and listed as missing in action, changed to killed in action in 1945 and in 1949 list as body unrecoverable.
His remains have now been recovered along with what really happened to Capt Schlegel.
Several witnesses have recalled Capt Schlegel's last hours as a POW in Germany, right up to the point when he was taken behind a train station and executed by his captors.
His only living remaining family member, his nephew, Perry Nuhn USAF (ret), has arranged for him to be buried with full military honors in Beaufort National Cemetery.
