Over the past 2 1/2 years the Eagle Nation has lost 34 brothers from 25 chapters. We must always remember our brothers. As we did in 2018 and 2019 we will once again hang a dog tag for each of our brothers on the trees that are used to make wreaths for Wreaths Across America. One tag on one tree, these trees are living memorials for each of our brothers, these trees will NEVER be cut down and will forever memorialize our brothers. This area is always open to us so we may visit our brothers, this area is only for our brothers.
It would be great to see representation from at least each chapter that has lost a brother and any other brothers to attend to Remember.
Tree Tagging is Thursday, 9 Sept, and Maine States Annual is on Saturday, 11 Sept.
Wreaths Across America HQ is in Columbia Falls, ME.
The area is very rural, with few amenities, The closest town with amenities is Machias, ME. there's only one bar a handful of restaurants and two hotels;
The Bluebird Motel, 231 Dublin St, Machias, ME 04654, 1 207 255 3333. and Machias River Inn, 103 Main St, Machias, ME 04654. 1 207 255 4861.
MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS ASAP!!! There is no block of rooms, etc.
If you have any questions, please get with Brother Flanker or brother Drifter (Maine State President). Also asked around to other brothers that have attended, I know they'll tell everyone what a great experience it was, and a must attend at least once.
A rough agenda is:
9 Sept - Meet at Wreaths HQ at 0900hrs for Museum Tour, 1030hrs (or so) Ride to Tip land for Tagging, (times not finalized)
With 34 Tags, it will probably take 2-3 hours. Once done with tree tagging you can head down with Maine State and the rest of the Northeast brothers for their annual or hang in Bar Harbor and Acadia National park for a day then head to Maine States Annual.
