The solstice heralds the beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere.
The timing of the solstice depends on when the Sun reaches its farthest point north of the equator.
The word solstice is from the Latin solstitium, from sol (sun) and stitium (to stop), reflecting the fact that the Sun appears to stop at this time (and again at the winter solstice).
In temperate regions, we notice that the Sun is higher in the sky throughout the day, and its rays strike Earth at a more direct angle, causing the efficient warming we call summer.
This summer solstice is the day with the most hours of sunlight during the whole year.
Massachusetts State has changed our 18th Annual Charter party to September 5th 2020.
So mark your calendars for that date and take a ride or cage it up to New England for a great time with us.
Look forward to seeing everyone.
Until than be safe brothers and make sure to tell everyone in your Chapters we here at Massachusetts State are thinking of you and your families.
P.S
Our raffle for the $1000 will be drawn on September 5th as well.
Almost two months ago, we lost our Brother Trouble to the original "C" word...Cancer. At the time, COVID-19 was just beginning to show its ugly teeth and life was pretty much placed on hold.
As we begin to see a shimmering of light out there now, it is time for us to gather together, and celebrate the life of a great man and Brother.
On Saturday, 20 June we will be holding a Memorial Service at the Ernie Pyle VFW in Indianapolis, IN. The doors will open at 1100 for visitation with an official service taking place at 1300.
1850 S East St, Indianapolis, 46225
At that time (as least as the rules of engagement apply for now) the state of Indiana will be in an opening phase that allows for groups up to 250 people to gather.
This Club was everything to Trouble. He embraced it with every ounce of his being...through good times and bad. If you can put some time into your calendar, please try to pencil in 20 June and find your way to Indiana. His extension Angel and his Brothers would love to see you all and share the many great stories that where experienced with him.
If you will need a space to stay, just let us know. There are many homes all around the city of Indianapolis that will have no issue at all in providing some good old Hoosier Hospitality.
These are some mighty strange times we are in right now...the likes none of us have experienced before. While the reason is somber, it will still be great to see everyone and we hope that you can make it.
