Victory over Japan Day. On 2 September 1945, formal surrender occurred aboard the battleship USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay Japan.
Labor Day in the United States is a holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September. It is a celebration of the American labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of their country.
Patriot Day, holiday observed in the United States on September 11 to commemorate the lives of those who died in the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Virginia and those who perished when the hijacked United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania. The holiday also recognizes those who died attempting to rescue people trapped by the attacks.
By a joint resolution of the U.S. Congress on Dec. 18, 2001, September 11 was designated as Patriot Day. The resolution calls for the president of the United States to issue a yearly proclamation requesting that all U.S. flags be flown at half-staff. Further, Americans are asked to honor the dead with a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 AM, Eastern Standard Time, the time that the first airplane struck the World Trade Center, and to respect the ceremonies of remembrance when they are conducted. Prior to passage of the resolution, several other names had been proposed for the day, such as the National Day of Remembrance and the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance.
POW/MIA Recognition Day is commemorated on the third Friday of every September, a date that's not associated with any particular war. Resolutions making it official were passed in 1979 by Congress and the president after the families of the more than 2,500 Vietnam War POW/MIAs pushed for full accountability.
Gold Star Mother’s and Family Day is traditionally observed on the last Sunday in September. The day is for honoring families of those who have received The Gold Star – the military award no one wants. The award commemorates the tragic death of a military member who has perished while in the line of duty and hopes to provide a level of comfort to the parents and families that are left behind.

It is time to save the date for the 6th Annual Southwest Rendezvous hosted this year by the Hardroad Chapter (TX-8) located in Amarillo, TX.
Date: Sept. 1 & 2, 2023.
Location: Amarillo, TX
1. Rooms and Reservations
We have blocked out 100 rooms at the host hotel for Saturday Only. If you plan on arriving on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, and reserve your room, you should be able to lock in your room for Friday and Saturday at the same time for the same rate.
Since we do not know the exact numbers that would arrive on Friday, we do not want to be held liable for not filling rooms for that night.
If there is an issue with reserving your room, please contact: Brother Gjuicy at: gjuicyusmvmc@gmail.com.
2. SWR T-shirt and Coins.
We are currently working on SWR T-shirts and coins. Once the design is completed, an order form will be put out. We will only be accepting pre-orders and will have those items available at SWR.
3. Merchandise Table
We have approximately 12 large round tables for chapters to use if they want to sell any merchandise. First come, first serve. Some may have to share tables.
4. Weapons and Texas Law.
Texas is a Constitutional Carry State. Under that law, it must be open carry unless you have a Concealed Carry. Texas has many reciprocities with many states, so please check your state laws compared with Texas.
5. Helmet Law.
Texas does not have a mandatory helmet law except any rider under the age of 18 must wear a helmet.
Finally: Make your reservations early. If something happens afterwards and you are not able to make it, please cancel your reservation so another Brother may reserve that room.
**If your Chapter has a Banner, please bring it. We will have all banners hanging around the atrium of the hotel.
And you might want to bring a small lock to secure it to the railing. We don't want another chapter to take it by mistake. 😂
Brothers, TX-8 is striving to make this the best ever Southwest Rendezvous and set the bar high for the ones to follow. So come out, have an awesome time and share in the Brotherhood.

Unfortunately it. continues to be a hard year for a lot of of us due to the loss of some great brothers. Chapter 100 was chartered in 2013 in honor of our fallen brothers, this year on Sept 14th we will be having Chapter 100's first Annual celebrating its 10th yr and Tree Tagging event.
We will once again be hanging dog tags and raising a glass for each of our brothers lost this past year on trees that are used to make the wreaths for Wreaths Across America. If you haven't been to our annual Tree Tagging or are on the fence about the event, talk to those that have been there, I'm sure they'll convince you that you need to come up.
Chapter 100 first ever annual will be held in Columbia Falls, ME in conjunction with tree tagging and Maine States Annual on 16 Sept.
As most of those that have been up to tree tagging know, Worcester Wreath has built about 50 cabin on the land that the trees are on. They have blocked all cabins for us, and given us a 33% discount on all cabins. Cabins range from a single king to bunk houses which will accommodate 6-8 brothers.
Flagpole View cabins website is: https://www.flagpoleviewcabins.com/ , use code "USMVMC" for the discount. All cabins feature microwave and mini fridge.
Cabin type are:
King Cabin - 1 King bed $114 plus tax
King Plus Cabin - 1 King Bed, 1 pull out, $127 plus tax
Deluxe Cabin - 2 queen beds, 1 pull out, $133 plus tax
Loft Cabins - 3 queen beds, 1 pull out, $154 plus tax
In years past we've averaged about 20-30 brothers (mainly from the northeast) each year (see attachment). It would be great to see at least representation from every chapter that has lost a brother this past year.
Event schedule will be as in the past with a few exceptions since we will all be at one location.
Wednesday 13 Sept - Meet and greet at large fire pit area at cabins
Thursday 14 Sept - Breakfast at on site restaurant, ride to WAA museum for tour, ride to tip land, tag trees, annual to follow (Large fire pit area at cabins)
(suggested)
Friday 15 Sept - Breakfast Helens (local restaurant), depart for Maine States Annual
There's over 50 cabins at this site, my hope is that we fill this place and let Maine and the Northeast know who US Military Vets are and show Worcester Wreath and Wreaths Across America what our fallen brothers mean to us.
What annual could be more memorable than an annual to Remember and Honor our fallen brothers of the Chapter 100!!!

Due to inclement weather tropical rains an steady rain through out the day an with our 9th annual being outside we have to cancel apologies for such a short notice but Mother Nature has put the screws to us this year.
We tried get set up inside at Iron tails Saloon but there’s already gonna be a group there.
Due to a scheduling conflict, unfortunately we are canceling the RiverRat Ruckus on Sept 2nd. But don't worry...in 2024 we will be back for a bigger, badder weekend filled with Brotherhood, debauchery, tattoos, beer and generally bad decisions. In the meantime, don't forget about our WVA Combined annual on Sept 23rd.

The word equinox comes from the Latin words for "equal night." The fall and spring equinoxes are the only days of the year in which the Sun crosses the celestial equator.
From here on out, the temperatures begin to drop and the days start to get shorter than the nights.

Happy Birthday U.S. Military Vets MC
On 16 September we will be doing a memorial ride for Brother Tripod. One of his wishes was to have a ride and have his ashes spread during the ride so he can be in the wind one last time. We will be linking up at the Vine Grove VFW Post 10281 located at
299 Briggs Ln Vine Grove, KY 40175. We will link up at 0800 EST for breakfast and will be KSU at
1000 EST. This ride will be open to all Brothers, friends and family. The plan is to take a ride to Nada Tunnel about 161 miles from the VFW and let his ashes fly. From there we will return to the VFW for those wishing to hang around and enjoy some Brotherhood.
