Palm Sunday is a Christian moveable feast that falls on the Sunday before Easter. The feast commemorates Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, an event mentioned in all four canonical Gospels.
In many Christian churches, Palm Sunday includes a procession of the assembled worshipers carrying palms, representing the palm branches the crowd scattered in front of Jesus as he rode into Jerusalem. The difficulty of procuring palms in unfavorable climates led to their substitution with branches of native trees, including box, yew, willow, and olive. The Sunday was often designated by the names of these trees, as in Yew Sunday, or by the general term Branch Sunday.
Ash Wednesday, a day of fasting, is the first day of Lent in Western Christianity. It occurs 46 days before Easter and can fall as early as 4 February or as late as 10 March. Ash Wednesday is observed by many Western Christian denominations.
According to the canonical gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke, Jesus Christ spent 40 days fasting in the desert, where he endured temptation by Satan. Lent originated as a mirroring of this, fasting 40 days as preparation for Easter. Every Sunday was seen as a commemoration of the Sunday of Christ's resurrection and so as a feast day on which fasting was inappropriate. Accordingly, Christians fasted from Monday to Saturday (6 days) during 6 weeks and from Wednesday to Saturday (4 days) in the preceding week, thus making up the number of 40 days.
Ash Wednesday derives its name from the practice of blessing ashes made from palm branches blessed on the previous year Palm Sunday, and placing them on the heads of participants to the accompaniment of the words "Repent, and believe in the Gospel" or "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return".
Mardi Gras, also Fat Tuesday in English, refers to events of the Carnival celebrations, beginning on or after the Epiphany or King's Day and culminating on the day before Ash Wednesday. Mardi Gras is French for "Fat Tuesday", reflecting the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season.
The Vernal Equinox
The word equinox is derived from the Latin words meaning “equal night.”
Days and nights are approximately equal everywhere on earth and the Sun rises and sets due east and west.
At the equinoxes, the tilt of Earth relative to the Sun is zero, which means that Earth’s axis neither points toward nor away from the Sun.
According to folklore, you can stand a raw egg on its end on the day of the Vernal Equinox.
Set you Clocks Forward One Hour.
Daylight saving time (DST) or summer time is the practice of advancing clocks during summer months (that feature more daylight) so that people get up earlier in the morning and experience more daylight in the evening. Typically, users of DST adjust clocks forward one hour near the start of spring and adjust them backward in the autumn.
Starting in 2007, most of the United States and Canada observe DST from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November, almost two-thirds of the year. The 2007 US change was part of the Energy Policy Act of 2005.

Due to the national health emergency we are facing currently, I wanted to address our 20th anniversary annual coming up on March 28, 2020.
After meeting with my officers and chapter, and much discussion the best decision was to postpone our annual until another time for the overall safety and well being of our brothers and extended family.
If and when the crisis clears, we will plan another date and will forward that information out at that time.
We send everyone our prayers and well wishes during this time while our nation struggles through this crisis.
After much discussion this week, Louisiana State Chapter has made the decision to postpone the annual scheduled for April 4, 2020. With the current state of closings locally due to the Corona Virus scare and new presumed positive cases popping up every day in the area, we felt it best to delay the annual and let this pandemic run it's course. As soon as we have rescheduled the event we will send out all info.

Saint Patrick's Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick (Irish: Lá Fhéile Pádraig, "the Day of the Festival of Patrick"), is a cultural and religious celebration occurring annually on 17 March, the death date of the most commonly-recognized patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick (c. AD 385–461).
On St Patrick's Day it is customary to wear shamrocks and/or green clothing or accessories (the "wearing of the green"). St Patrick is said to have used the shamrock, a three-leaved plant, to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish.

We as a club need to remain healthy and vigilant as the world continues to lose its mind regarding the coronavirus. Your safety and well-being are extremely important to me. After several conversations with club Presidents , chapter brothers and with a great deal of consideration, I have decided to cancel our State Meeting and Annual.
We will look at our calendar and find a date in which we can have our annual. A State meeting will occur prior to NPM. I apologize for any inconvenience. Stay healthy and safe.
Although most modern calendar years have 365 days, a complete revolution around the Sun (one solar year) takes approximately 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 46 seconds (or, for simplicity's sake, approximately 365 days and 6 hours, or 365.25 days).[5] An extra 23 hours, 15 minutes, and 4 seconds thus accumulates every four years (again, for simplicity's sake, approximately an extra 24 hours, or 1 day, every four years), requiring that an extra calendar day be added to align the calendar with the Sun's apparent position. Without the added day, in future years the seasons would occur later in the calendar, eventually leading to confusion about when to undertake activities dependent on weather, ecology, or hours of daylight.

Our chapter has made this decision due to current closings of events and functions throughout the nation. This scare of the corona virus and positive results from testing that has been circulating the media. We will update the Eagle Nation once we have a new date set.
